There’s no better way to get to know a destination than to mix with the locals with one of their coveted, indigenous events. And dress for the occasion to join the fun. Debauchery abounds between an afternoon of polo matches in the Hamptons or polishing off an evening at Le Ti in St. Barth’s. The right invitation is key and we know just the right parties and events where we can make you a VIP.

Carnival - Venice, Italy

January 30 - February 16, 2021

An invitation to a Carnival Ball is not to be missed. But to attend you must arrive in masquerade, perhaps costumed as a doge for the men and your best Marie Antionette for the ladies. . Masquerade Ball attendees typically sport traditional Venetian masquerade masks, capes, or gowns. Not to worry, your ball attire is easily found in one of the local shops that specializes in masquerade ball attire.

Carnival - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

February 12 - 17, 2021

The event that signifies the start of Lent and has become known as "The Greatest Show on Earth". With two million people per day, Carnival Rio attendees enjoy the samba, the music, the parties, and of course the costumes Color, Color, COLOR - this is most important when choosing your outfit, The more colorful and elaborate, the better. People also tend to opt for actual costumes like police officers, sailors, and pirates. Sequins, feathers, and flowers all are popular additions as well. Just remember that Rio summer's can be HOT.

Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Houston, Texas

March 2 - 21, 2021

For three weeks in March, Houston society is dressed for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. You may even feel out of place without a Stetson and cowboy boots. Cannes Film Festival - Cannes, France

May 11 - 22, 2021

Red carpet attire is essential while attending the star-studded exclusive premieres. The saying dress to impress applies here with black tie attire. Women are seen in long formal evening gowns with sensible heels (you may end up walking more than you think, packing flats could be a wise decision). For men, you cannot go wrong with a tuxedo, dress shirt, and of course a bow-tie. Think Oscars, plus plus gowns with long trains and your chance to make a statement on the famous red carpet.

Royal Ascot - Ascot, England

June 15 - 19, 2021

Although a strict dress code, Royal Ascot guests are invited to embrace their style at this horse race turned major fashion event. Regardless of which Enclosure you are invited in, women are expected to wear an elegant yet appealing dress of modest length with straps greater than one inch. Strapless, off the shoulder, halter, or spaghetti straps are not permitted. Extravagant hats with fine detail tend to make an appearance as well. For Gentleman, it does vary based on your Enclosure but the typical attire consists of suits, waistcoats, ties, and hats. When picking your outfit, just remember, the Queen WILL be in attendance after all.

Polo - Bridgehampton, New York

It's all about style in the Hamptons during the summer the annual Polo Hamptons match. Although guests usually attend for the champagne and Instagram worthy pictures rather than to see who wins, it is still one of the most sought after events each year in the Hamptons for those who can get a ticket. Lots of white, plenty of hats, but get your couture ready.

As if Ibiza isn't colorful enough, enter Flower Power is one of Ibiza's longest running parties at Pacha club. Every week people gather in 60s/70s hippy costumes to celebrate the lively yet peaceful spirit of Ibiza with with exciting DJs, colorful décor, and interactive performances. It's the see and be seen place to rock the night in your hippest costume.

Colors, skulls, and flowers are the staple for this holiday that celebrates our loved ones who have passed. This is not Halloween and the goal is to be respectful, NOT scary. Our recommendations for attire include bright colored dresses, suits, flower crowns, and skeleton or sugar skull print attire. As a sign of respect, we also encourage you to attend Latinx-owned festivals and businesses and opt out of the full face of sugar skull makeup.
